Mahasiswa di makassar, dapet Uang, Blackberry, Tiket, Kaos. Menurut pengakuannya dia sudah mendapat lebih dari 10 Juta. Yap, dari jejaring sosial bernama twitter.

Ceritanya kemarin saya berbangga karena berhasil ikut sebuah acara dengan 50% off tiket masuk, yap itu saya lakukan via twitter dengan mention yang punya acara personally. Anyway ternyata ada yang lebih hebat, teman baru saya yang bisa ikut acara itu gratis.

Mari kita mulai, saya bisa menyebutnya orang yang sangat beruntung. Lebih tepatnya orang biasa yang bekerja keras untuk beruntung.

Dia menceriterakan pengalamanya yang sangat sering mendapatkan sesuatu dari internet, saya beri dia nama #TwitterQuizExpert, yap semua itu dia dapatkan dari kuis di internet. sejak dua tahun lalu katanya, sebut saja namanya Ilham, Ilham membuat dua akun twitter satu akun pribadi dan satunya akun kuis, dengan nama yang hampir sama.

Dengan semangatnya dia bercerita sering mendapatkan tiket, pernah mendapat tiket VIP Yovie and Nuno di Jogja dan kemudian dia jual. Anyway, He is Lucky Hunter. Mungkin semua kuis di twitter dia ikuti, Anyway he is lucky hunter. Keberuntungan itu memihak pada yang berusaha lebih keras dan lebih siap teman.

Mau Ikutan?

The director asked, “Did you obtain any scholarships in school?”
The youth answered “none”.
The director asked, ” Was it your father who paid for your school fees?”
The youth answered, “My father passed away when I was one year old. It was my mother who paid for my school fees.”
The director asked, ” Where did your mother work?”
The youth answered, “My mother worked as a clothes cleaner.
The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.
The director asked, ” Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?”
The youth answered, “Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

“The director said, “I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother’s hands and then see me tomorrow morning.”

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high.
When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands.
His mother felt strange, but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to her son.
The youth cleaned his mother’s hands slowly. His tears fell as he did that.
It was the first time he noticed that his mother’s hands were so wrinkled
and that there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so
painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes every day to enable him to pay the school fee.
The bruises in the mother’s hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.
After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.
That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director’s office.
The Director noticed the tears in the youth’s eyes and asked,
“Can you tell me what you did and learned yesterday in your house?”
The youth answered, ” I cleaned my mother’s hands, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes.’
The Director asked, “Please tell me your feelings.”

The youth said:

Number 1, I know now the meaning of appreciation. Without my mother, there would not be the successful me today.

Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only now I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.

Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, “This is what I am looking for in my new manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others,
a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. Son, you are hired.”

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently
and as a team. The company’s performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been over protected and habitually given whatever he or she wanted, would develop the entitlement mentality and would
always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent’s efforts.
When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings
of his employees and would always blame others. This kind of person,may be good academically and may be successful for a while,

but eventually would not feel a sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more.
If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat good meals, learn piano,
watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let him
experience it. After a meal, let him wash his plates and bowls together
with his brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money
to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love him in the right way.
You want him to understand, no matter how rich his parents are,
one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young man .

The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

You would have forwarded many mails to many and many of them would have back mailed you too…
but try and forward this story to as many as possible… this may change somebody’s fate…

Bagi para kandidat pengikut ‘I Dare Business Plan Competition”, yang sedang menyiapkan proposal; GIST akan menayangkan serial 6 sessi video tutorial tentang cara menyiapkan proposal “jagoan” (winning proposal). Video-video tersebut akan di upload di situs YouTube (The GIST initiative) dan di situs GIST : http://gist.crdfglobal.org/ rencananya mulai hari ini sampai 26 Januari 2012 (catatan: batas akhir pengajuan proposal tetap 24 Januari 2012). Setiap sessi video terdiri dari dua modul @ 90 atau total 3 jam, sehingga keseluruhan 6 sessi tutorial total durasinya adalah 18 jam. Pada setiap video, narasumber akan menjelaskan isi setiap sessi tutorial termasuk masukan-masukan dari peserta tutorial tentang konteks kewirausahaan yang berlaku di berbagai negara. In Partnership with MIT Enterprise Forum from the Pan Arab region, GIST has opened its Business Plan Competition to all technology entrepreneurs with promising new technologies and companies. This funding will support new technology start-up development by facilitating mentorships with successful entrepreneurs, providing networking opportunities a model for suitable business development strategies in the region and access to U.S. markets by organizing visits to the U.S. for a selected group of entrepreneurs to establish direct connection with potential investors and partners.
“I Dare” GIST Business Plan competition winners will receive awards as follows:

First runner-up (1 award): $25,000

Rössler Papier : Paper that inspired!

Rössler Papier is family owned company founded in 1937, which delivers paper idea for more than 70 years. They produce high-end handmade paper products: envelopes, decoration, photo album, gift-boxes, greeting cards, etc.
Today it has 220 employees and more than 3.500 shops are opened in more than 20 countries. Its turnover as of 2010 is about €19 Million. The objective to visit the company was related to the current research cooperation between Rössler and the FH Aachen (university of Aachen). Dipl.-Ing. Philipp Ginkel as the project manager explained about the details of the innovative research cooperation.

This cooperation gets financed by the incentive program of the European Union through a private intermediary agency. But the Rössler Company contributes a person, who works all time in the project together with team of FH Aachen for the knowledge and technology transfer purpose; and also provides a machine for the research need. It is hoped that the cooperation can be accomplished by February 2012 since the company wishes to be the first, who sell the special innovative envelopes, which not sold on the market yet.
Some facts: it produces limited products; mostly hand-made; using old machines, which only produce limited number of paper (not mass); imported fine and high qualified paper from Holland; produce products for other paper company! (Kris_red)

Pelatihan intermediator teknologi 2011 tahap 2 yang diselenggarakan di Jerman telah memasuki bulan kedua. Pada bulan pertama, peserta mendapatkan materi di kelas tentang beberapa topik, antara lain intermediasi teknologi, inkubator, managemen klaster, blue ocean strategy, business model, sistem inovasi nasional, dsb. Materi yang disusun dan diberikan oleh beberapa mentor dari VDI|VDE|IT, merupakan gabungan teori dan praktis, sehingga peserta tidak hanya mendapatkan materi saja, namun mereka juga dibagi ke dalam beberapa kelompok untuk mengerjakan studi kasus dan mempresentasikannya di depan kelas.

Peserta sangat antusias dan aktif ketika mengerjakan tugas kelompok. Di samping itu, VDI|VDE|IT juga menghadirkan beberapa praktisi dari luar untuk memberikan gambaran secara lebih komprehensif kepada peserta pelatihan. Agenda lain yang juga dilakukan oleh peserta pelatihan adalah kunjungan ke pre-inkubator, inkubator teknologi TU Berlin serta Technology Park Wuhlheide dan Adlershof.

Memasuki bulan kedua, peserta dibagi ke dalam 5 (lima) kelompok untuk melakukan kegiatan mini-internship di beberapa lembaga transfer teknologi dan institusi terkait dengan kegiatan pengembangan inovasi di beberapa kota Jerman. Kelima daerah yang dipilih adalah Berlin (Techno Park Adlershof), Dresden (Technische Universität Dresden), Aachen (Zentrum für Biomedizintechnik, FH Aachen, AGIT dan IMA ZLW IfU), Stuttgart (Steinbeiss) dan Munich (VDI|VDE|IT branch office Munich).

Untuk kegiatan internship di kota Aachen, peserta pelatihan yang terdiri dari 6 orang, ditempatkan pada 4 (empat) institusi yang berbeda. Kegiatan yang mereka ikuti pada saat internship cukup bervariasi: Sda. Abdul Kadir Mukarram yang ditempatkan di Zentrum für Biomedizintechnik (ZBMT) diminta untuk melakukan market research tentang potensi industri farmasi di Indonesia serta membantu tim untuk persiapan kick off meeting antara ZBMT dengan delegasi dari Jepang tentang peluang kerjasama bidang farmasi. Sda. Ari Eko Prasethio dan Sda. Pridana Nasution melakukan internship di FH Aachen.
Mereka mendapatkan tugas untuk membuat analisis singkat tentang addictive manufacturing dan energy efficiency. Gebhardt yang menjadi supervisor mereka, juga aktif melakukan kegiatan transfer teknologi dan kerjasama dengan industri di kota Aachen. Sedangkan Sda. Tomi Arianto yang mendapatkan tempat internship di AGIT (Technology Transfer Management Office, Aachen) memiliki pengalaman yang berbeda karena dia diminta untuk melakukan analisis SWOT tentang kota Aachen dan kota Bursa dan Istambul di Turki. Saat ini pemerintah daerah Aachen sedang berupaya untuk menarik investor dari Turki untuk melakukan bisnis di kota Aachen. Sedangkan Sdi. Asnia Paramita dan Sdi. Galuh Prawitasari yang internship di IMA ZLW IfU diminta untuk membuat analisis beberapa proposal bisnis yang gagal mendapatkan insentif.

Beberapa acara seperti “Nacht der Forschung – Malam Riset”, business gathering serta “Start Up Company Day” sudah menunggu partisipasi dari peserta internship di kota Aachen. (Kris/ad-IKM/dep-5/humasristek)

Eh mau cerita dulu dink..

Setelah baca posting untaian kata mbak prie tentang mimpinya, aku cuma bergumam“such a great dreams” , jadi bikin aku ngebuka lagi dreambook-ku yang udah lama gag kebuka. Lalu apa mimpimu? Kalo menurut saya mimpi itu seperti harapan bahwa kita akan mencapai ke suatu kondisi yang kita sangat dambakan. Jadi bukan mimpi yang fase saat kita tidur sambil meluk guling itu ya semacam tujuan hiduplah.

Tapi seperti apa kita sebaiknya menggantungkan mimpi? Kalau ada yang bilang “gantungkan mimpimu setinggi langit”boleh kok, asal tetep nginjek bumi ya. Maksudnya tetep in control, intinya sih mimpi itu selain spesifik tetap harus bisa jadi motivasi dan sesuatu yang berharga untuk diperjuangkan. Kalo ketinggian juga tar kita malah beban buat ngejalaninnya terus bisa putus asa. Kita masing-masing bisa mengukur sendiri sepertinya.

Trus kata ajaibnya apa ri? Oh ya, mari kita mulai studi kasusnya…

Kalo kata buku sih, Kenyamanan itu musuh terbesar dari keberhasilan besar. Jika takut ambil resiko ya pasti tidak akan berubah, jika takut berubah ya tidak akan berhasil, jika takut berhasil ya tidak akan bahagia. Hahaha

aku udah bahagia kok dengan hidupku yang sekarang. Aghh tai kebo (alih bahasa dari bullshit…)
